CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Amezcua: <br />• Thanked Executive Director of Planning and Building Agency Haghani for <br />initiative to bring Housing Opportunity Ordinance and innovation; and <br />• Thanked businesses and residents for meeting water target and staff for <br />implementation policy. <br />Councilmember Reyna: <br />• Asked all to continue to conserve water; <br />• Noted that 80 students will participate in upcoming Catalina field trip; <br />• Invited all to participate in 5K event; <br />• Reported that Regency Theater offers throwback movies on Wednesdays; <br />• Encouraged all to shop in Santa Ana; and <br />• Commented that school almost back in session; on-line tutoring offered at <br />Lend a Hand. <br />Councilmember Benavides: <br />• Commented on National Night Out; <br />• Commented on Housing Opportunity Ordinance — commitment by the City to <br />offer market rate housing and invest in areas of need; <br />• Support our local economy — shop Santa Ana; and <br />• Adjourn in memory of Gil Marrero who devoted so much in the downtown; <br />grateful for his many contributions. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento: <br />• Reflected on 251h anniversary of ADA supreme court ruling — intended to <br />prohibit discrimination to those with disabilities; support equity; thanked <br />advocates; <br />• Congratulated Bolivian community on upcoming Independence Day; and <br />• Adjourn in memory of Gil Marrero and Oldrich Unger. <br />ADJOURNED - 9:59 p.m. — The next meeting of the City Council is scheduled for <br />Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. in the Police Community Room, <br />60 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California. <br />Adjourn in Memory of <br />Gilbert P.
