LS 8.6.15 <br />above the lowest floor level having building access, except buildings used <br />as hospitals as defined by the Health and Safety Code Section 1250. <br />SECTION 3. Article I of Chapter 14 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended such that it reads as follows: <br />Sec. 14 -30. — Fire Protection Systems (Chapter 9). <br />(a) Section 907.2.13 High -rise buildings is hereby revised as follows: <br />High -rise buildings and Group 1 -2 occupancies having occupied floors <br />located more than 75 feet above the lowest level of fire department vehicle <br />access. High -rise buildings and Group 1 -2 occupancies having <br />occupied floors located more than 75 feet above the lowest level of fire <br />department vehicle access shall be provided with an automatic smoke <br />detection system in accordance with Section 907.2.13.1, a fire <br />department communication system in accordance with Section <br />907.2.13.2 and an emergency voice /alarm communication system in <br />accordance with Section 907.6.2.2. <br />(b) Section 907.6.3.2 High -rise buildings is hereby revised as follows: <br />High -rise buildings and Group 1 -2 occupancies having occupied floors <br />located more than 75 feet above the lowest level of fire department vehicle <br />access, a separate zone by floor shall be provided for all of the following <br />types of alarm- initiating devices where provided: <br />1. Smoke detectors. <br />2. Sprinkler water -flow devices. <br />3. Manual fire alarm boxes <br />4. Other approved types of automatic detection devices or <br />suppression systems. <br />SECTION 4. Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act ( "CEQA ") and <br />the State CEQA Guidelines, the adoption of this ordinance is exempt from CEQA review <br />pursuant to 14 California Code of Regulations section 15061(b)(3), which is applicable if <br />it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the project may have a <br />significant effect on the environment. As a result, a Notice of Exemption will be filed <br />upon adoption of this ordinance. <br />SECTION 5. If any section, subsection, phrase, or clause of this ordinance is for <br />any reason held to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the <br />remaining portions of this ordinance.
