w » 0 r <br />0 <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />SEPTEMBER 15, 2015 <br />TITLE: <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2015 -06 TO <br />ALLOW A 50 -FOOT HIGH WIRELESS FACILITY <br />FOR SPRINT PC$ AT 2116 WEST MONTE VISTA <br />AVENUE — ALEXANDER LEW, APPLICANT <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO, 3, 2) <br />c , <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />0 As Recommended <br />[7 As Amended <br />0 Ordinance on 1 "� Reading <br />Ordinance on 2"tl Reading <br />[I Implementing Resolution <br />Cl Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />Receive and file the staff report approving Conditional Use Permit No. 2015 -06 as conditioned. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br />At its regular meeting on August 24, 2015 by a vote of 5 :0 (Gartner & Nalle absent), the Planning <br />Commission adopted a resolution approving Conditional Use Permit No. 2015 -06 as conditioned <br />to allow a 50 -foot high major wireless facility at 2116 West Monte Vista Avenue located in the <br />Open Space (Q) zoning district. The Planning Commission made no changes to the <br />recommended conditions of approval outlined in the attached staff report (Exhibit A). <br />Sprint PC$ is requesting approval of a conditional use permit for an existing major wireless <br />facility that is disguised as a pine tree (mono- pine). The original conditional use permit that <br />allowed for the Installation of the facility at the site has expired and the applicant was required to <br />apply for a new conditional use permit. The applicant is also proposing to modify the existing 50- <br />foot high monopine by upgrading existing antennas and related ancillary equipment. The project <br />will remove and Install new service antenna panels on the monopine and enhance ancillary <br />equipment within the existing $75 square foot enclosure. The facility is intended to provide <br />increased cellular coverage and call capacity in this area of the City. No changes to the <br />monopine structure, Its existing height of 50 feet, or current location are proposed as part of this <br />project, New equipment for the wireless facility will be installed within the CMU wall enclosure <br />that Is located on a 523 square foot lease area. The monopine and enclosure are proposed to <br />remain In their current location, along the southwesterly portion of the overall site, near a sports <br />field that is shared with Jerome Park. Full sized site plans are available for public viewing in the <br />Clerk of the Council Office. <br />31A-1 <br />
