As you know, Santa Ana Building Healthy Communities <br />S'A13HQ is an initiative of non -profits, community organizations, adult and youth residents committed to <br />support improvements to the health and well-being of families in Central Santa Ana. In fact, we worked <br />with the City and SACReD to ensure wide community participation in the Five -Year Strategic Plan <br />because we see civic engagement as a core pillar of a healthy community. Based on the input we heard <br />through the Strategic Plan, through our work over the last five years of SABHC, and prior to SABHC, we <br />have several recommendations on the allocation of these funds that will bring immediate benefits to the <br />lives of thousands of families. More importantly, we have stakeholders with direct expertise that can see <br />through implementation efforts. <br />We urge you to support the following recommendations: <br />Rem <br />Who <br />Amount <br />Fund to incentivize local micro -enterprises that promote local <br />Community <br />$1 Million <br />health, arts, and culture. Ce.g. worker cooperatives, the <br />Development in <br />establishment of a mercadito as a market place for locally <br />collaboration with <br />prudced artisanal goods, and the establishment of a <br />Community Orgs. <br />community -run micro -farm). <br />Fund RFP or city sponsorships for community -led <br />Community <br />$500,000 <br />programming that promotes health, arts, culture, such as the <br />Development in <br />recently approved mini -grant donation program to community <br />collaboration with <br />groups. <br />Community Orgs. <br />Community Spaces: Grants for community centers providing <br />Community <br />$2.5 Million <br />health, wellness, arts, culture programming to support <br />Development in <br />infrastructure, new services and providers for ikon -Profit <br />collaboration with <br />Community Clinics, El Centro Cultural de Mexico, Familias <br />Community Orgs. <br />C'orazones Verdes Park, The L B'T Center OC, the KidWorks <br />Youth Center expansion, and The Cambodian Families. <br />Public Restroom & drinking fountain at Plaza Calle Cuatro <br />Parks & Rec <br />$500,000 <br />Wellness Corridor signage/wayfinding along 5 routes to <br />Public Works <br />$250,000 <br />promote walking and biking and improve connectivity to the <br />business district. <br />
