NO. 15 -078) <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO , 6, 1C) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ <br />As Amended <br />❑ <br />Ordinance on 18'Reading <br />❑ <br />Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ <br />Implementing Resolution <br />❑ <br />Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />[�I�I�T► uf'-7 <br />Authorize a one -time purchase and payment of purchase order to Orange County Pump <br />Corporation for the repair and replacement of storm water lift pumps for the Civic Center Plaza, in <br />an amount not to exceed $83,000, subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City <br />Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency General Maintenance Division <br />maintains the Civic Center Plaza grounds, which includes two storm water lift stations utilized to <br />discharge surface water from the Civic Center Plaza area to the City's storm water drainage <br />system. The recommended action will allow for replacement of one pump and motor that is <br />beyond repair, and repairs to the second pump and motor. Upgrading these pumps will ensure <br />the storm water lift stations are working at full capacity thereby enhancing staff efforts to prevent <br />flooding at various locations within the Civic Center Plaza area due to rain. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on August 3, 2015, on the City's online bid management <br />and publication system. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />17 Vendors were notified <br />2 Santa Ana vendors were notified <br />3 Vendors attended mandatory job walk <br />2 Bids received <br />0 Bids received from Santa Ana vendors <br />22A -1 <br />
