Approve the Arts and Culture recommendations for fiscal year 2015 -2016 Investing in the <br />Artist Grant Opportunity in the amount of $ 80,000; <br />2. Approve staffs recommendation for fiscal year 2015 -2016 Investing in the Artist Grant <br />Opportunity to add one additional project in the amount of $5,000; <br />3, Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the Clark of the <br />Council to execute agreements with artists and art organizations awarded funds as part of <br />the approved program, subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City Manager <br />and City Attorney, <br />ARTS AND CULTURE COMMISSION <br />At Its regular meeting on July 16, 2015, the Arts and Culture Commission (ACC) directed staff to <br />transmit funding recommendations for the Investing In the Artist Grant Opportunity for fiscal year <br />2016 -2016 to the City Council by a vote of 6;0 (Cribb abstained, Rubio absent) for the Orange <br />County Center for Contemporary Art, 6;0 (McGee abstained, Rubio absent) for Downtown <br />Incorporated, and 6:0 (Rubio absent) for all other recommendations, <br />The ACC reviewed and rated a total of 46 completed applications, Artist applications were <br />evaluated on the following criteria; (1) Project Merit- 40%; (2) Artist Portfolio- 30 %; Potential <br />Community Impact- 20%; Individual Need- 10 %. Art organization applications were evaluated on <br />the following criteria; (1) Project Merit- 60 %; (2) Organization Need. 26 %; (3) Potential <br />Community Impact - 26%. <br />The rating results for both Individual artists and art organizations have been combined and are <br />summarized below. <br />25A -3 <br />
