EMERGENCY ORDINANCE ADOPTING A 45-DAY MORATORIUM ON <br />THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ANY SHORT-TERM RESIDENTIAL RENTAL <br />USE {STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 5, 41 - Planning and Building Agency <br />Douglas MacLeith, spoke in support of short term vacation rentals. <br />Council discussion ensued. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento, indicated that City Council will consider <br />options post moratorium; need to create balance between both interests. <br />Councilmember Amezcua, asked if moratorium would prevent Mr. <br />MacLeith from renting home; how many homes will be impacted with <br />moratorium. <br />City Manager Cavazos, moratorium will allow staff time to analyze issue <br />and offer options. <br />MOTION: Adopt an emergency ordinance.
