"D'ARlY <br />APPROVED <br />D As Recommended <br />As Arnewded <br />E] So Pubhc Hear nrt For <br />DENIED <br />C.I Arplicani's Request <br />[:1 Staff P'; te.cornfrir,r'id ation <br />CON INI.,1ED 10 <br />AcAing Nola nii pct M ag r <br />Adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 2015 -06 as conditioned. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Request of the Applicant <br />Chase Villafana, representing Planet Fitness, is requesting approval of a variance from Section 41- <br />1375 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code (SAMC) to allow a reduction in required parking for a health <br />and fitness club within PacificCenter located at 1760 East Edinger Avenue. <br />Project Location and Site Description <br />The subject project is located on a 2.19 -acre parcel that is integrated into a larger 16.4 -acre <br />commercial center. The commercial center is a local and community serving destination <br />containing a Home Depot and three freestanding eating establishments, namely a House of <br />Pancakes (IHOP), El Pollo Loco and Jack -in- the -Box. The Planet Fitness health club use is <br />proposed to occupy the existing 23,397 square foot building at 1760 East Edinger Avenue that was <br />previously occupied by Staples retail store. <br />The PacificCenter commercial site is located on Edinger Avenue east of Lyon Street and west of <br />Ritchey Street. The site is surrounded by a variety of commercial, office and industrial businesses <br />to the north, south, east and west (Exhibits 1, 2 and 3). <br />EXHIBITA <br />31A-3 <br />
