and overseas. OCCCA was the very first arts organization to commit to moving into the <br />Santa Ana Artists Village. With the generous assistance and support of the City of <br />Santa Ana, OCCCA was granted title and moved to its current 6,300 square -foot facility. <br />Ownership and member management and control of the gallery makes OCCCA unique <br />in the world of non - profit arts organizations. <br />In the past six years OCCCA has extended its international reach. The new facility has <br />enabled the planning of more ambitious large -scale projects most notably those in the <br />new media areas. <br />All of this is done in the spirit of voluntarism. OCCCA directors receive no salary. This is <br />a pure grassroots organization that works on the passion and creativity of its members, <br />who are artists themselves. Therefore by being a member you are an active participate <br />in Its vision and future. We are not beholden to anyone but our standards and <br />community. <br />Narrative for proposed use of funds:: <br />INVESTING IN THE ARTIST — Orange County Center for Contemporary Art <br />Application: Use of Funds <br />SUMMARY: The funds will be used to provide an art exhibition and a top quality <br />professional jazz musical performance. The exhibited artist is George Herms, an <br />internationally recognized assemblage artist. Mr. Herms' art is in many national and <br />international permanent collections, both public and private. The exhibition, free to the <br />public, will include a performance, also free to the public, presenting a music style called <br />'Jassemblage' which is heavily influenced by Mr. Herms' assemblage art. <br />SPECIFICS: The funds will be used in three categories. <br />1. Exhibiting Artist Expenses: Fee and Compensation @ $3,000.00 <br />2. Musicians Compensation: Five musicians @ $300 each = $1,500.00 <br />3. Logistics: Truck rental for pick -up of art from artist's storage in Los Angeles, <br />preparation for transit, delivery to OCCCA in Santa Ana, after exhibition de- installation, <br />preparation for transit return delivery to artist's storage in Los Angeles, misc. supplies, <br />hardware, equipment for exhibition installation and de- installation @ $500.00 <br />Supplemental Question 1:: <br />None <br />Supplemental Question 2:: <br />The OCCCA exhibition program has existed since the artist run gallery was created in <br />Santa Ana in 1980. This specific exhibition and musical presentation within the existing <br />program is unique, therefore new. <br />Supplemental Question 3:: <br />The one month exhibition and one night jazz performance will be free and open to the <br />public and promoted widely through several existing social media platforms and <br />standard print and broadcast media -wide press releases. <br />Supplemental Question 4:: <br />The exhibition of this particular artist of international reputation in the art world, has the <br />
