ARTICLE I <br />1.0 RECOGNITION <br />1.1 Pursuant to the provision of the Meyers- Milias -Brown Act, Government Code Section <br />3500, et seq., the City of Santa Ana (hereinafter called the "City ") has recognized the <br />Santa Ana Police Officers Association (herein called the "Association ") as the recognized <br />representative of the bargaining unit which includes Rill-time police. department <br />employees in the sworn, "safety- member" classifications and assignments of Police <br />Officer, Police Sergeant, and full -time police department employees in the non - sworn, <br />"miscellaneous- member" classifications and assignments of Animal Service Officer I and <br />I1, Background Investigator, Communications Services Officer, Correctional Officer, <br />Correctional Supervisor, Crime Research Aide, Crime Research Analyst, Emergency <br />Operations Coordinator, Firearms Examiner, Forensic Services Supervisor, Forensic <br />Specialist I and 11, Parking Control Officer, Police Athletic /Activities League Assistant <br />Director, Police Communications Supervisor, Police Community Services Specialist, <br />Police Evidence and Supply Specialist, Police Evidence and Supply Supervisor, Police <br />Investigative Specialist, Police Photo /Video Specialist, Police Property and Evidence <br />Supervisor, Police Recruit, Police Service Officer, Police Services Dispatcher, Range <br />master, Senior Parking Control Officer, and Traffic Services Specialist, as well as such <br />classifications as may be added hereafter by resolution of the City Council. All other <br />classifications not specifically listed are excluded from representation by the Association, <br />25E -5 <br />
