a APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />o Minutes of April 27, 2015 accepted as presented. <br />® FY 15-16 PARK IMPROVEMENT PLAN UPDATE <br />o Gerardo Mouet introduced Ali Borujerdi, General Maintenance Supervisor <br />who presented information on the FY 15-16 Park Improvement Plan, focusing <br />on the basic (Safety) needs. <br />o David Cavazos and Gerardo Mouet provided historical information on the <br />development of park improvements and how PRCSA identified the needed <br />improvements. <br />Councilmember Reyna expressed concern about the need for lighting at <br />Kiwanis Barrier Free Park. <br />o Gerardo Mouet indicated the park is underutilized in the evening due to the <br />lack of security lighting. <br />• DISCUSS DISTRICT/CITY AUGUST 24 JOINT POLICY MEETING <br />o Gerardo Mouet provided a history of the policy meetings and the value of <br />these meetings. <br />o Councilmember Reyna requested a comprehensive agreement that could <br />possibly include the use of district classrooms when not in use by the district. <br />o Councilmember Amezcua agreed and also wanted to include District libraries. <br />o Gerardo Mouet presented the existing and future joint projects that the City <br />has with the District and indicated the start of a pilot program with SAUSD <br />Student City Library Cards. <br />o Melanie McCann provided an update on the homeless shelters. <br />The Public Works Agency provided an update on school parking and street <br />tree issue. Pedro Guillen indicated that due to the small area it would be a <br />challenge to add trees. <br />JOINT USE TENNIS COURT AT SANTA ANA HIG14 SCHOOL <br />o Gerardo Mouet provided historical information on the joint use of the tennis <br />courts with SAUSD. <br />o Councilmember Reyna expressed concern that the cou is might be <br />underutilized. <br />Gerardo Mouet responded that a variety of courts around the City are used to <br />accommodate residents that may not be able to travel to Santa Ana High <br />School.
