REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE. <br />NOVEMBER 17, 2015 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT WITH TIBURON, INC, <br />FOR COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH <br />SYSTEM MAINTENANCE <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 11 3A) <br />CITY MAN ER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />rAYNr* <br />•t <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinanuo on 1" Reeding <br />❑ Ordinance an 2" Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Sat Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute a one -year agreement with <br />Tiburon, Inc, for the period of December 1, 2015 to November 30, 2016 to provide software <br />maintenance and support services In an amount not to exceed $44,159, subject to non- <br />substantive changes by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />s w <br />The Santa Ana Police Department utilizes a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system called <br />IQ /CAC) to manage field activity including calls for police service and activity of field personnel. <br />This mission critical system connects the community's needs for police services with City <br />resources. It Is also vital In protecting the safety of pollee personnel. Due to the essential nature <br />of this system, the City contracts with Tiburon, Inc, to maintain and support this system as <br />needed on a 24/7 'basis. Tiburon owns the licenses for this software and Is the only company <br />able to support this system. The current contract for maintenance expires November 30, 2015. <br />This agreement in the amount of $44,159 will continue that maintenance for the period of <br />December 1, 2015 through November 30, 2016. <br />Staff recommends continuing this maintenance in order to ensure the ongoing operation of the <br />IQ /CAD computer aided dispatch system. This maintenance agreement will be eliminated once <br />the Police Department integrated software system is implemented. <br />25C -1 <br />
