a. Non - permanent employees (Probationary, Part -time, Seasonal, <br />etc.). <br />b. Employees performing work above their regular classification in a <br />training capacity. <br />C. Payment. <br />On the eleventh (11«') consecutive working day an employee has been <br />serving in a Temporary Upgrade Assignment, and for each additional <br />consecutive working day the employee so serves, he or she shall receive <br />the 'beginning rate (Step "AAA ") assigned to the higher classification or <br />the lowest rate in that range which is at least ten (10) salary rate ranges <br />(approximately 5 %) higher than the current base salary rate he or she <br />normally receives, (inclusive of lead pay and exclusive of any other <br />assignment or special pay additive or additives) whichever is greater, <br />except when placement at "E" step will not be sufficient to provide the ten <br />(10) salary rate range increase. <br />If an employee has worked, ten (10) consecutive days during the term of <br />this MOU in a higher classification, the employee shall thereafter receive <br />upgrade pay for each day the employee is assigned to work in the higher <br />classification during the term of this MOU. <br />2. Assignment or special pay additives, such as bilingual pay, shift <br />differential, special skill pay, etc„ paid to an employee prior to becoming <br />eligible for Temporary Upgrade Assignment Pay, will not be considered in <br />computing the amount of higher pay to which he or she is entitled in <br />Subparagraph 5.5C above. If the special circumstances upon which said <br />additive is based are also applicable to the Temporary Upgrade <br />Assignment and the employee remains eligible for such pay while in the <br />temporary upgrade position, this amount will be added to the new salary <br />rate range. <br />Temporary Upgrade Assignments which entail moving an employee into a <br />classification represented by an employee unit other than that which <br />represents his or her permanent classification shall not include any change <br />in fringe benefits for the affected employee. <br />4. While working in a Temporary Upgrade Assignment, an employee will <br />continue to accrue, and have recorded, general, special or normal salary <br />step increases in the employee's permanent position; however, such salary <br />increases will be paid only to maintain the minimum five percent (5 %) <br />differential above the salary to which an employee is entitled in his or her <br />permanent position. <br />22 <br />25A -26 <br />
