REQUEST FOR
COUNCIL ACTION
CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE:
NOVEMBER 16, 1998
TITLE:
Ti
gducaiio Isf
CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY:
VISICAD SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT
Uffmazubm*01
❑
As Recommended
❑
As Amended
❑
Ordinance on 1st Reading
❑
Ordinance on 2nd Reading
❑
Implementing Resolution
❑
Set Public Hearing For
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the Mayor and the Clerk
of the Council to execute an agreement with TriTech Software Systems for
maintenance of the Fire Department's VisiCAD computer aided dispatch
system, for an amount not to exceed $50,927.
DISCUSSION
In 1996, the Fire Department purchased VisiCAD software from TriTech
Software Systems. This proprietary software enables the Fire Department
to maintain vehicle status and tracking to more accurately dispatch the
closest unit(s) to an emergency incident. Software maintenance was
included in the original purchase agreement to cover the initial phases
of installation, and during the first year of service. This new
agreement would be an extension of the support services originally
included with the purchase of the software.
The maintenance agreement entitles the Fire Department to seven
days/week, 24 hours/day support, all software enhancements of the
product, and up to three business days of on site technical support. The
Fire Department recommends a one-year agreement with two -one year renewal
options.
079 x y
4.
183
