RESOLUTION NO. 2015- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 2015 -026 TO <br />AMEND THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND <br />COMPENSATION PLAN TO PROVIDE PAY INCREASES FOR <br />EIGHT PART TIME TITLES, TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE <br />WITH STATE MINIMUM WAGE LAW, AND TO AMEND THE <br />CITY'S BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEARS 2015 -2016. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows <br />A. Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position <br />classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations <br />and the approval of the City Council. <br />B. On June 16, 2015, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 2015 -026 amending and reestablishing the Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan for all Full -Time and Part -Time Classifications of <br />Officers and Employees of the City of Santa Ana. <br />C. On July 7, 2015, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. NS- <br />2878, establishing the City's Budget for Fiscal Years 2015 -2016, <br />authorizing position allocations for Fiscal Years 2015 -2016, and requiring <br />that alterations in the allocation of authorized positions be reviewed and <br />approved by the City Council. <br />D. The State of California adopted a new minimum wage law requiring that <br />the minimum wage rate be increased to $9.00 per hour effective July 1, <br />2014, and to $10.00 per hour effective January 1, 2016. To comply with <br />the second legislated increase, hourly pay rates assigned to seven <br />represented and one unaffiliated part -time classification titles need to be <br />adjusted accordingly. <br />E. It is now desired to amend Council Resolution Nos. 2015 -026, as <br />amended, and the Annual Budget for Fiscal Years 2015 -2016, as <br />amended, in order to effect these changes. <br />Section 2: That Exhibit H Classification Titles and Wage Rates for Represented <br />categories of Non -Civil Service Part -Time Employment of Resolution No. 2015 -026, be <br />amended by adjusting the five hourly wage rates assigned to the following seven part <br />time classification titles as set forth below: <br />55B -3 <br />
