I have known Sara Guerrero for many years. Most recently we worked
closely together on a two -year community -based project called
Dialogue/Dialogos for South Coast Repertory. Sara served as the
Engagement Director and I was the Playwright -in- Residence,
What culminated from the project was a play titled The Long Road
Today /FI Largo Ckmino de Hoy in which over one hundred performers and
crewmembers participated and over 2,000 audience members attended
the outdoor production at the Civic Center in downtown Santa .Ana last
year.
The project received funding of $500,000 from the James Irvine
Foundation. Sara supervised the budgets as well planning and
implementation.
Sara is an outstanding producer, director, collaborator, and artist that is
dedicated to se.iwing her corinnunity by bringing artists, community and
theatre together.
I applaud her new playwriting series for the community of Santa Ana. I
look forward to participating as a teaching artist.
Respectfully,
