Host "Themed" Months - Selecting a new theme for each Artwalk gives people a reason
to come back each month and see what's next and new. Unique themes will expand our
reach to niche audiences by utilizing downtown's unique arts infrastructure to showcase
a unique mix of local and global talent. Lastly, themes inspire our coordinators to forge
new relationships for the arts and push our marketing further than ever before.
Press & Coverage - By securing press coverage and producing short bios, artist videos
and other promotional materials with local artist works helps build the Santa Ana brand
and add value to the artists' work, connections and portfolios building a more
sustainable local arts economy.
We hope to develop a budget that includes sending our local talent out to other
locations to help build the Santa Ana arts and culture brand. By networking our arts and
culture to other cultural hubs, we can attract new talent, attention and investment.
Live Arts & Downtown -wide Music - Artwalk is expanding in geography. What started in
the Artists Village is now becoming a downtown -wide event including the East End
promenade and Santa Ana Plaza, Artwalk Alley, West End music shows and soon the
closure of 4th St. to 5th St. at Sycamore (to be programmed by the Santa Ana Business
Council).
We seek to further partner with businesses across town to amplify and coordinate
Artwalk activities, especially supporting the payment of live arts performance and
community arts- making activities.
Additional Artwalk Focused on Art Sales & Kids /Family - Art galleries and artists feel
that the atmosphere of Artwalk has created an incredible downtown -wide event that has
benefited restaurants, bars and property values but art sales have declined. They feel a
secondary daytime Artwalk should be explored, possibly on Sunday, possilby in
conjunction with broader community partnership including children's activities and the
Station District.
Type of Application::
Organization is based in Santa Ana and proposes to use grant funds to provide arts and
culture programming in Santa Ana
Need::
$10000
I am applying for::
Programming Costs, Equipment,Special Events
If other please state below::
n/a
Organization Mission and History:
