tllyil�o(P� Yvkliy lleallund FooAandNg <br />ott� <br />011.91r. <br />Councilmember Martinez, noted that some members of the community <br />were concerned about the designations such as museum designation <br />district and east end and west end pedestrian signs; is City Council <br />symbolically approving the designation by approving proposed action? <br />branding should be considered soon; requested pedestrian signs for Calle <br />Cuatro Plaza. <br />Executive Director Reender noted that City Council has opportunity to add <br />more pedestrian and vehicular signs — is beginning start of signs. <br />Councilmember Martinez note that City Council make a commitment to <br />Wellness Corridor- need to include pedestrian markers. <br />City Manager Cavazos, noted that Calle Cuatro designation available with <br />surplus funding in the amount of $25,000. <br />Councilmember Benavides, opined that signs need to make it as easy as <br />possible to park and use signs as point of reference, identify historical <br />sites and significant assets in our community. <br />Councilmember Amezcua, commented that branding to be considered <br />separately. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento, asked if this was practical approach to <br />navigating the Downtown; concerned that signs appear to identify districts <br />- should be directional only; need to keep signs subtle and generic. <br />Councilmember Reyna, indicated that streetcar project coming and <br />wayfinding signs are timely. <br />Councilmember Martinez, requested consideration of a friendly <br />amendment to the motion to remove Museum, East End and West End <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 14 DECEMBER 1, 2015 <br />
