Appendix <br />A'[ "I'AC.itMEI1T ! <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />CITY OF SANTA t11aA <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS <br />FOR <br />WALNUT PtIIA PST T1ON OPERATIONAL PLAN AND SYSTEM TESTING <br />RFP NO,: 1-5-105 <br />Introduction Introduction and Background- <br />The City of Santa terra is located in the County of Orange in Southern California. The City encompasses <br />27,2 square miles and sr population of 325,000 people. <br />The City of Santa Ana Public Works Agency - Water Resources Division oversees and maintains the <br />daily operations of the Water System and Sanitary Sewer System, The City of Santa Ana's swatter <br />system has in average day demand of about 43 million gallons (MG) with 45,000 services. It is <br />comprisW of approximately 444 tulles of`water main, 45 N-16 of storage at 7 sites, 7 Metropolitan Water <br />District (MWfD) connections, 21 groundwater wells, 7 ptrrnli stations, one (1) elevated tank, a pressure <br />regulating stations and utilizes 2 pressure zones, The Cily's sanitary server system has approxiniately, <br />8,000 manholes, 390 miles ofsewer mains and 2 lift stations, The seswcr system collects all sewage and <br />transports it to the Orange County Sanitation District for treatment. In addition, the Water Resources <br />Division monitors one Storm Drain lift Station known as the First Street Underpass. <br />All facilities that require remote operation and tetcmetry (pump stations /fi ft Stations, swells, tIVIWD <br />connections and pressure regulating stations) require 24 hours per day; seven days per week on call <br />support. Ilowever„ they are staffed only d Uri rig normal business hours. <br />Exisl:ing Walnut Puinu Station. <br />`file existing Walnut Pnni,p Station is centrally located in Santa Ana. This facility is a time (5) booster <br />Purnpin f, station with two of the five boosters controlled by variable frequency drives (:3) <br />wells (Well 29, Well 16, and Well 33) pump directly into the t million gallon resetimir at this location. <br />Additionally, at Municipal Water District (MW17) connection, SA-2, is available to :supplement to the <br />water supply as needed, <br />While the Walnut Station is currently fully operational, comprehensive system improvements are <br />planned, including upgrades to the sfati is instrumentation and control systems (under a separate <br />Contractrscopc of work), <br />Description of Work: <br />All project tasks and dcliverables shall be is described in Exhibit A, Scope of Services, <br />CifyotSantaAna Ft�P t5 -t d5 <br />25-1 -J13 <br />
