CITY OF SANTA ANA NOTICE TO RESIDENTS: CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION AND APPOINTMENT TO THE ORANGE COUNTY VECTOR CONTROL APPLICATION DEADLINE: JANUARY 11, 2016 The City of Santa Ana encourages residents to become involved in your community. One way to do so is to serve in an advisory capacity on one of the City's various boards and commissions. The City is now accepting applications to fill a seat on the Orange County Vector Control. Below is a summary of the position including duties, compensation, and requirements Minimum Requirements Must be a registered voter and not serve as a treasurer of a political action committee. Term of Appointment Board of Trustee appointed member will serve a two or four year term, as approved by the City Council. Responsibilities The District maintains a small but highly trained unit responsible for the prevention, elimination or control of mosquitoes and other arthropods known to be potential carriers of infectious diseases, or presenting a public nuisance. The Board of Trustees is responsible for hiring an administrator to organize and carry out an effective control program, and to develop a budget adequate to staff and support the program.
