• Christina Hall, spoke on behalf of the Whole Food Access Coalition - serve as food <br />quality council, supports residential bee keeping; offered assistance in developing <br />policy. <br />• Anna Maria Desiplis, urban farmer, supports bee keeping and sustainable practices; <br />offered workshops to educate community on safety measures. <br />• Rick Niedermeyer, wished all happy holidays; representative of Santa Ana Youth <br />Soccer Leagues; concerned with Parks and Recreation Policy Manual approved <br />many years ago that has not been updated and guidelines not followed; invited all on <br />January 9t" to Centennial Park for championship games. <br />• Ilya Tseglin, indicated that his goal in making comments is to protect his son from <br />abuse at group home and improve communication with police department. <br />• Robert Tseglin, requested assistance in reporting abuse of his brother in group <br />home with the assistance of the police department. <br />• Mayor Pulido, requested staff review ordinances of surrounding communities <br />on bee keeping. <br />• Councilmember Amezcua, concurred and asked staff to set up meeting with <br />coalitions. <br />• Councilmember Martinez, supports recommendation on local food supply <br />policy; need to look at alternatives on urban gardening; look forward to <br />working with local food coalition. <br />90A. CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS - None <br />90B. CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Martinez: <br />Wished all Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and New Year; look <br />forward to working with colleagues and staff in the coming year. <br />Councilmember Tinajero: <br />• Happy Holidays to all; reflect on blessings and appreciate family and <br />friends; thanked all for efforts. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento: <br />• Thanked all for hard work and dedication to the community; <br />• Happy Holidays, Feliz Navidad and blessings to all; <br />• Reflected on the life of Tin Nguyen and noted that many policy <br />decisions need to be discussed including gun control; and <br />• Requested next meeting be adjourned in memory of daughter of Dona <br />Penaflorwho succumbed to cancer. <br />Councilmember Amezcua: <br />• Thanked staff for another successful Plaza Navidad event; <br />• Attended ribbon cutting of Plaza Calle Cuatro event; <br />• Requested update of clean -up efforts; and <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 20 DECEMBER 15, 2015 <br />1 OA -20 <br />
