The Planning Commission made no <br />changes to the attached staff report (Exhibit A). <br />The City's Housing Authority is proposing to rezone three parcels of land that are located within the <br />Transit Zoning Code boundaries from Urban Neighborhood -2 (SD- 841UN -2) to Open Space (SD- <br />84 /08). The purpose of the rezoning is to facilitate the future construction of a public park within the <br />central section of the City. The proposed park, in conjunction with another parcel at Raitt and Myrtle <br />Streets, will assist in mitigating the loss of 2.6 acres of public park land at Centennial Park, which is <br />being used by the Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) for educational purposes, <br />The future use of these properties as a public park will provide an additional recreational opportunity <br />to residents in the immediate area. <br />7513-1 <br />
