These parcels, which will require a <br />voluntary lot merger when the proposed park is submitted for approval, are rectangular in shape and <br />total approximately 0.43 acres. Each parcel is currently developed with a vacant, single - family <br />residence. Although all three residences were built prior to the 1940's, none of them are listed on the <br />City's Register of Historical Properties. These parcels were acquired by the former Redevelopment <br />Agency several years ago and were originally identified as potential sites for new housing. With the <br />dissolution of redevelopment agencies statewide, the parcels were transferred to the Housing <br />Authority as allowed under State law. <br />The site is surrounded by multiple - family residential uses to the north, south and west, and by Garfield <br />Elementary School to the east (Exhibits 1, 2 and 3).
