RFP for Affordable Housing <br />February 2, 2016 <br />Page 2 <br />$161,007 in HOME Program funds for Community Housing Development Organizations <br />(CHDO) only <br />50 Project -Based Vouchers from the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana for <br />homeless individuals or families only <br />Based on the new HOME rules, HOME commitments cannot occur until all other financing for the <br />project has been fully committed. The selected developer(s) will be responsible for contributing <br />and securing additional funds, as may be necessary, for acquiring the land, completing the <br />improvements, lease -up and operation of the project. <br />The RFP is scheduled for release on February 3, 2016 with proposals due Monday, March 28, <br />2016. Notices of funding availability will be placed on the City's website, published in a general <br />circulation newspaper, and directly emailed to local housing developers who have previously <br />shown an interest in affordable housing development projects. Following review of the proposals <br />received, the recommendations will be submitted for City Council's final approval. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #5 - Community Health, Livability, <br />Engagement and Sustainability, Objective #3 (facilitate diverse housing opportunities and support <br />efforts to preserve and improve the livability of Santa Ana neighborhoods). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />Kelly Reenders <br />Executive Director <br />Community Development Agency <br />NV /J B <br />Exhibit: 1.
