3, SEIU members who notify the City, in writing, of their intent to <br />retire within 12 calendar months from the date of retirement shall <br />be allowed to cash out any accrued leave balances that would be <br />directed into the individual's RRS account on their final paycheolc. <br />Upon request, employees shall receive payment as soon as <br />practical, and no longer tban 30 days after the request has been <br />made, if the employee cashes out his or her eligible sick leave <br />barilc balances prior to retirement mitt subsequently does not retire <br />from the City, all future sick leave accrual for the employee shall <br />be subject to the same cash out provision elected and will be <br />processed on the final paycheck. All combined cash outs cannot <br />exceed what the employee would have been entitled to if the cash <br />out was processed on the final payeheak only.
