ARTICLE III <br />3,0 ATTENDANCE, WORKDAY & WORKWEEK <br />3.1 Attendanc e. Employees covered by this MOU shall be in attendance at their work during <br />hours prescribed by the Department Head or his/her designee(s) and shall not absent <br />themselves without approval of the Department Head or his /her designee(s). <br />3.2 Hours of Worlc. Eight (8) hours of work shall constitute a normal clay and forty (40) <br />hours of work shall constitute a minimum worlcweelc, except for employees for whom <br />special regulations have been approved by the City Manager as follows; <br />W <br />uiuuluvuce, aria peracr:ea rrect aervrces .gmploees, The Department Head, with <br />the approval of the City Manager, may assign these employees to a worlcweelc <br />consisting of four (4) ten (10) hour days with an additional one -half (1/2) or one <br />(1) hour for unpaid lunch as negotiated with the Union. The assigned employee <br />shall work four (4) ten (10) hour days and shall have three (3) consecutive days <br />Off in a workweek. Upon mutual agreement between the supervisor and <br />employee, the employee may waive his or her right to three (3) consecutive days <br />off in a workweek The regular workweek shall consist of forty (40) hours. A <br />regular day off shall consist of ten (10) hour$, <br />R• 3111 5, 1/5 5 Work Schedule For Detontion Records Employees, The Department <br />Head, with the approval of the City Manager, may assign these employees to a <br />workweek consisting of three (3) eleven and one -half ('1'1.5) hour days and one (1) <br />five and one-half (5.5) hour day, with an additional forty -five (45) minutes for <br />unpaid hunch as negotiated with the Union, The assigned employee shall have <br />three and one -half (3.5) consecutive days off in a workwook. Upon mutual <br />agreement between the supervisor and employee, the employee may waive his or <br />her right to three and one -half (3,5) consecutive days off in a workweek The <br />regular workweek shall consist of forty (40) hours. A regular day off shall consist <br />of either eleven and one -half (11.5) hours or five and one -half (5.5) hours. <br />C. 9180 Work Schedule, The work schedule described below is known as the 9/80. <br />The 9/80 work schedule is designed to be in compliance with the requirements of <br />the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLEA). In the event that there is a conflict with die <br />current rules, practices and /or procedures regarding work schedules and leave <br />plans, then the ralos listed below will govern. <br />Employees shall be permitted to work a 9/80 work schedule when authorized by <br />the Department Head and approved by the City Manager. A departmental work <br />unit will not be permitted to work this sohedulo if in the discretion of the <br />Department Head and City Manager, the 9/80 work schedule may reduce service <br />to the public. <br />25A -11 <br />
