CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Amezcua: <br />• Thanked the City Manager and staff for City's excellent credit rating. <br />Councilmember Reyna: <br />• Thanked community for conserving water and encouraged all to continue <br />efforts; <br />• Reported on successful Youth in Government conference in Sacramento; <br />over the weekend; and <br />• Asked all to shop Santa Ana! <br />Councilmember Benavides: <br />• Congratulated Councilmember Reyna for leadership and role in Youth in <br />Government Program; kudos to team; <br />• Congratulated all on City's AA Credit Rating, City's tough decisions to get us <br />to where we are now and effective economic development efforts; <br />• Requested update on branding efforts and Community Development Block <br />Grant funds from sale of properties along Bristol Street; <br />• Requested update on long term strategy for homeless and civic center <br />improvements; work with County Board of Supervisors on efforts and asked <br />if City Council needs to prioritize projects; and <br />• Urged all to support local economy and shop in Santa Ana. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento: <br />• Congratulated the City Manager on City's strong credit rating and US <br />President's line item budget approval for the OC Streetcar Project; thanked <br />federal advocates Holland and Knight, for assisting in City's receipt of $5 <br />million in UASIS funding; <br />• Thanked the Mayor for inviting Supervisor Andrew DO to continue discussion <br />on homeless and include CalOptima services that are lacking in Santa Ana; <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 17 FEBRUARY 16, 2016 <br />1 0A -17 <br />
