Brookhurst, Fullerton CA <br />Unit Count/Bedroom Type: Two large scale <br />emergency shelters, 200 beds per shelter per <br />night <br />Affordability Requirements: No income limits or <br />requirements <br />Funding Sources: Orange County funds, Santa <br />Ana ESG, Fullerton CDBG, EFSP, <br />Service Start Date: Mercy House was awarded the <br />contract to operate this program in 2008 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />INVOLVEMENT WITH THE <br />COORDINATED ENTRY SYSTEM (CES) <br />As an agency, Mercy House provides a significant <br />amount of leadership and advocacy to the Orange <br />County Continuum of Care and to the creation <br />and operation of the Coordinated Entry System. <br />Such roles and leadership activities include: <br /> Mercy House’s Executive Director, Larry <br />Haynes, was one of the chief architects of the <br />County’s Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness. <br />He currently is member of the Commission to <br />End Homelessness Board of Directors. He is <br />also Chair of the Commission’s Homeless <br />Prevention and Outreach Subcommittees. <br /> Mercy House’s Executive Leadership team <br />actively participate in numerous Commission <br />to End Homeless Subcommittees including but <br />not limited to the Coordinated Entry <br />Subcommittee. <br /> Mercy House’s Outreach teams were one of <br />the first to volunteer our services to conduct <br />VI-SPDAT assessments on homeless <br />individuals; we currently have more than 10 <br />staff members who are trained to conduct such <br />assessments. <br /> Mercy House’s own Permanent Supportive <br />Housing programs have been used to launch <br />and pilot the system here in Orange <br />County.
