(CSP) — Gang <br />Victim Services and the Santa Ana Police Department intend to continue to work together toward the mutual <br />goal of providing maximum available assistance for victims of gang and hate related crime and their families <br />residing in the City of Santa Ana. Both agencies believe that implementation of the program proposal, as described <br />herein will further this goal. To this end, each agency agrees to participate in the program by <br />coordinating/providing the following services: <br />The CSP, Inc. — Gang Victim Services staff will closely coordinate the following service with Santa Ana Police <br />Department as follows: <br />Victim assistance staff being readily available to law enforcement for service provision; available to accept <br />referrals and coordinate case management with department staff. <br />Meetings will be scheduled when necessary to discuss the continuation of mandated services, program <br />response and department procedures and policies. Specifically: <br />• Immediate crisis intervention contact will be made with victims of gang and hate crime related <br />violence and their families by program staff at the request of an investigating officer in the <br />designated target area. <br />• Program staff will maintain contact with the investigating officer on assigned cases to ensure that <br />the victim receives all services necessary to encourage continued cooperation in the investigation <br />and subsequent prosecution. <br />• Program staff will be available to victims and/or law enforcement to assist in follow-up contacts <br />between law enforcement and the victim including but not limited to interviews with investigators, <br />identification line-ups, and transportation of victims and coordination of court appearances. This <br />service will be provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and 24 hours seven <br />days a week in homicide cases. <br />• Staff will assist with notification of friends/relatives of the victim as to the occurrence of a crime <br />and the victim's condition when the department determines such notification is necessary and <br />appropriate. Death notification resulting from a homicide or other violent criminal act will be <br />coordinated with the Orange County Coroner's Office. <br />The Santa Ana Police Department will refer victims and/or their families immediately following the crime <br />incident.
