The Planning Commission made no <br />changes to the recommendation outlined in the attached staff report (Exhibit A). <br />The applicant is proposing to occupy a vacant and underutilized building as the new home for the <br />Central Baptist Church. The applicant is proposing to restore and refurbish the building to <br />comply with the Building and Fire Codes as well as various provisions of the ,Zoning Ordinance. <br />Interior tenant improvements will include the creation of a 1;057 - square -foot multi - purpose room <br />that will be used for church services and other similar assembly functions, new office space, a <br />bookstore, kitchen and restrooms. New electrical and mechanical systems will also be Installed <br />within the building. Exterior work will consist of new windows and doors, roof equipment <br />screening and the repainting of the building. Repaving and the restriping of the parking lot as <br />well as the removal of dead landscaping and the planting of new drought- tolerant landscaping <br />with a drip irrigation system are also proposed for the project. The church will operate from 9:00 <br />a,m. to 5:00 p.m. can Monday through Friday with the exception of Thursday, where the church <br />will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Sunday, the church will hold services and bible study <br />classes from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The church will be closed on Saturday.
