S, 2) e n g for <br />— <br />l <br />CITY TANAGER <br />111 !, r <br />,SI• ZI1111 i!DI4■Li•7 <br />Adopt a resolution authorizing the Executive Director of the Public Works Agency to submit <br />applications for California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery payment programs <br />to support the City of Santa Ana's beverage container recycling and other recycling related <br />programs, <br />r e <br />California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) offers funding <br />opportunities that can assist local government entities in the safe and effective management of <br />the waste stream. This funding provides for the implementation of programming that promotes <br />recycling, waste reduction, and product reuse, <br />For the past 20 years, the City has been awarded funding through the CalRecycle Beverage <br />Container Recycling City /County Payment Program, These funds have been used to Implement <br />ongoing recycling and public education programming in Santa Ana, During this same period, the <br />City was also awarded CalRecycle Oil Payment Program (OPP) funding to Implement used oil <br />and oil filter recycling programming, <br />In the past, CalRecycle required, and the City provided, a resolution approving submission of the <br />City's applications for OPP funds. CalRecyole now requires a resolution that encompasses all <br />payment programs. The resolution, which is effective until rescinded, authorizes the City of <br />Santa Ana to submit applications, and authorizes the Executive Director of Public Works, or his <br />designee, to execute the necessary applications and documents to implement and secure <br />payment of these State funds. <br />5513-1 <br />
