Additionally, Chapter 2 of <br />the recently adopted 2014-21 Housing Element of the General Plan states: <br />"From 1990 through 2007, net housing production totaled almost 500 <br />units (U.S. Census and California Department of Finance). However, the <br />city's population increased by about 60,000." <br />The proposal by AMCAL will offer the City of Santa Ana 69 affordable <br />apartment homes on an under-utilized commercial site. AMCAL has <br />proposed a high quality residential use that is in high demand.
