III. THE RELOCATION PROGRAM <br />NON- RESIDENTIAL RELOCATION PROGRAM <br />NON - RESIDENTIAL ADVISORY SERVICES <br />The City has two programs, Relocation Advisory Assistance Program and Relocation Payments Program, <br />to aid businesses, farms and nonprofit organizations which must relocate. In addition, if the displace <br />chooses to take full responsibility for all part of the move of the business, farm, or nonprofit organization, <br />the City may approve not to exceed the lower of the two bids obtained by the City from qualified moving <br />firms. <br />RELOCATION BENEFITS <br />1) Relocation Advisory Assistance Program, which is to aid you displacee locating a suitable <br />replacement property, and <br />2) The Relocation Payments Program, which is to reimburse displacee for certain costs involved in <br />relocating. These payments are classified as <br />Moving and Related Expenses (costs to move personal property not acquired), <br />Search Expenses (expenses related to finding a replacement), <br />Reestablishment Expenses (expenses related to the replacement property), and <br />In -Lieu Payment (a fixed payment in lieu of moving and related expenses, and reestablishment expenses). <br />MOVING EXPENSES <br />Actual Reasonable Moving Costs — Business owners may be paid for actual reasonable moving costs and <br />related expenses when a commercial mover performs the move. Reimbursement will be limited to a move <br />50 miles or less. Related expenses, with limitations, may include: <br />• Transportation, <br />• Packing and unpacking personal property, <br />• Disconnecting and reconnecting personal property related to the operation, <br />• Temporary storage of personal property, <br />• Insurance while property is in storage or transit, or the loss and damage of personal property if <br />insurance is not reasonably available, <br />• Expenses in finding a replacement location ($2,500 limit), <br />• Professional services to plan and monitor the move of the personal property to the new location, <br />and <br />Licenses, permits and fees required at the replacement location. <br />Self -Move Agreement — Business owners may also be paid to move their own personal property based on <br />the lower of two acceptable bids obtained by the City. <br />Page 110 <br />RELOCATION PLAN <br />Bristol Street Phase 4 Project ,� <br />
