5/3/16 jxs <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -030 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING THE RELOCATION PLAN FOR PHASE <br />IIIA IMPROVEMENTS OF THE BRISTOL STREET WIDENING <br />PROJECT BETWEEN CIVIC CENTER DRIVE AND <br />WASHINGTON AVENUE <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Santa Ana ( "Council') hereby <br />finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. Bristol Street is a major north -south transportation facility, which is <br />designated as a major arterial highway in the City's Circulation <br />Element of the General Plan. Improving the 3.9 -mile Bristol Street <br />segment from Warner Avenue to Memory Lane, continues to be a <br />long -term priority project, constructed in several phases. <br />B. On March 6, 2006, the City Council approved a cooperative <br />agreement between the City and the Orange County Transportation <br />Authority for widening of Bristol Street between Warner Avenue and <br />Seventeenth Street. <br />C. The March 6, 2006 agreement committed OCTA to contribute <br />funding for various phases of the Bristol Street widening project. <br />D. The Public Works Agency is acquiring property for development of <br />Phase IIIA, bounded by Civic Center Drive and Washington <br />Avenue, and expects to complete the right -of -way acquisition <br />process by June 2017. Construction is anticipated to begin in late <br />2017. <br />E. Pursuant to California Government Code section 7260, et seq., a <br />public entity is required to adopt a relocation plan, by resolution, <br />whenever it enters into an agreement for acquisition of real property <br />or an agreement for the disposition and development of property <br />which would lead to displacement of people from their homes. <br />F. Section 6002 of the California Code of Regulations, Title 25, <br />Chapter 6, et seq., requires the adoption of a Relocation Plan due <br />to the displacement of residential and business occupants. <br />G. The relocation plan has been prepared in conformance with <br />applicable provisions of the California Government Code section <br />Resolution No. 2016 -030 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
