NO. 14 -021) <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1C} <br />J_ <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1°t Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2n° Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />olikktflil�lit+ X <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Amend the contract with Commercial Cleaning Services for janitorial services in the amount of <br />$125,235, which includes $8,000 contingency, for a total annual amount not to exceed <br />$582,235, subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Finance and Management Services Building Maintenance Division oversees City facilities in <br />order to maintain clean, safe and properly functioning buildings. On June 17, 2014 the City <br />awarded a three -year contract to Commercial Cleaning Systems to provide janitorial services at <br />City Hall, Ross Annex, SARTC, Corporation Yard, Main Library, Newhope and McFadden <br />Learning Centers and six recreation centers, in an annual amount of $457,000. In order to <br />comply with the new California mandated minimum wage law through the end of the contract <br />term, funds in the amount of $74,050 are needed. Additionally, Council approved in the FY 2015- <br />16 budget an increase to Library hours. Staff has now determined the impact of services <br />required as a result of the extended hours. Staff is requesting an additional $51,185 to ensure <br />payment of all invoices through the end of the contract term.
