Alcala, Abigail <br />From: <br />Chris S <chris714oc@gmai1.com> <br />Sent: <br />Tuesday, lune 07, 2016 4:56 PM <br />To: <br />eComment <br />Subject: <br />65A MATER DEI APPENDIX ANALYSIS AND UPDATE <br />Mayor and City Council members, <br />I am not in favor of giving Mater Dei S2.5M from our city budget. <br />In April and May, the city held 6 community budget meetings to present and discuss the city's 2016/17 <br />proposed budget to residents of Santa Ana, and $2.5M of city funds for Mater Dei was never presented or <br />discussed at these community budget meetings. <br />I therefore ask you to vote for either option C or D. <br />Lastly, the document provided by Meter Dei lists several organizations that have and may directly benefit from <br />future use of Mater Dei facilities. <br />On page 65A-10 it lists KidWorks as a recipient of Mater Dei volunteer services, and page 65A-13 states <br />KidWorks could directly benefit from the future use of the Mater Dei Performing Arts Center. <br />Council Member David Benavides is currently an Executive Director of KidWorks. Because KidWorks directly <br />benefits from Mater Dei, I believe this will be a conflict of interest, and respectfully request Councilmember <br />Benavides recuse himself from voting on item 65A. <br />Kind regards, <br />Chris Schmidt <br />Windsor Village NA <br />
