Envlronmenial Protectlon Agency 24014. <br />5.2.2 Regulatory Framework. <br />Air Pollution Regulations <br />Air pollutants are regulated at the national, state, and air basin level and each <br />agency have a different level of regulatory responsibility. The United States <br />Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulates at the federal level. The <br />California Air Resources Board (ARB) regulates at the state level'. The South <br />Coast Air Quality Management district (SCAQMD) regulates at the air basin <br />level. <br />Federal Regulation <br />The EPA is responsible for national and interstate air pollution issues and <br />policies. The EPA sets national vehicle and stationary source emission <br />standards„ oversees approval of all State Implementation Plans, provide <br />research and guidance for air pollution programs, and sets National Ambient Air <br />Quality Standards, also known as federal standards. There are federal <br />standards for the following criteria air pollutants, which were identified from <br />provisions of the Clean Air Act of 1970: <br />Mid Basin Centennial Park Y'66, 6,206 Project Final EiR 5 -17 <br />
