Section 5 <br />The Proposed Project involves the construction of a series of injection wells to <br />replenish the Orange County Groundwater Basin. The source of water for <br />injection wells Would be advanced treated recycled water from the GWRS water <br />treatment plant, The ground water that would be replenished with GWRS water <br />would be consistent with beneficial uses identified in the Basin Plan, in that the <br />waters would be available for the following beneficial uses Municipal Water <br />Supply, Agriculture, Industrial and Industrial Processes. <br />Water Quality Objectives <br />The source of water for Proposed Project would be recycled water from OCWD <br />GWRS water treatment plant. The RWQCB order that permits GWRS water to <br />replenish the groundwater basin requires that the GWRS water meet all water <br />quality objectives in the Basin Plan, The implementation of the Proposed Project <br />would not conflict with water quality objectives identified in the Basin Plan, <br />Section 303 (d) Impaired Water Bodies <br />The construction and operation of the Proposed Project would not discharge <br />elevated levels of indicator bacterial into Reach 1 of the Santa Ana River, <br />Therefore, the implementation of the Proposed Project would not further impair <br />any Section 303 (d) listed water body. <br />Alternative 3: Reduced Intensity Alternative <br />Under Alternative 3, potential conflicts and impacts to Basin Plan beneficial uses, <br />water quality objectives and Section 303 (d) listed water bodies would be at the <br />same level as the Proposed Project. No adverse impacts would Occur. <br />Alternative 4: Pipeline Design Alternative <br />Under Alternative 4, potential conflicts and impacts to Basin Plan beneficial uses, <br />water quality objectives and Section 303 (d) listed water bodies would beat the <br />same level as the Proposed Project, No adverse impacts Would occur, <br />Mitigation Measures <br />No mitigation measures required. <br />Level of Impact after Mitigation <br />Alternative 1: No adverse impact <br />Alternative 2: No adverse impact <br />Alternative 3: No adverse impact <br />Alternative 4, No adverse impact <br />Mtd Basin Centennial Park I ig6nJill Project Final EIR 5-110 <br />
