REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />JUNE 21, 2015 <br />TITLE; <br />AGREEMENT AMENDMENT WITH <br />SUPERIOR PROPERTY SERVICES FOR <br />PRESSURE WASHING SERVICES FOR <br />CITY EVENTS <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 113} <br />CITY MA GER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />As Recommended <br />E] As Amended <br />El Ordinance on 15i Reading <br />ED Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />® Implementing Resolution <br />E7 Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute a fourth amendment to the <br />agreement with Superior Property Services for pressure washing services to increase the base <br />services amount by $20,000 to a base agreement amount of $98,861.96 for additional pressure <br />washing services after city events and adjust the contingency from a rate of$10,000 to 20% of <br />the contract in the amount of $19,772.39, for a new total annual amount of $118,634.35, for the <br />periods of May 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016 and January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017, <br />subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City Manager and the City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On October 15, 2012, a Request for Proposals was issued for providing hardscape pressure <br />washing services in the Civic Center. On December 17, 2012, the City Council awarded a five - <br />year contract to Superior Property Services in the amount of $57,950. In November 2014, the <br />scope of service was increased to include additional days and areas of service. The costs new <br />base services amount became $78,861.96. <br />Throughout the year, the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency ( PRCSA) hosts <br />various events, such as the Fiestas Patrias and Cinco de Mayo events, which require pressure <br />washing after the event to maintain a clean area. PRCSA is requesting an increase to the <br />existing five year agreement with Superior Property Services by $20,000, to a new total base <br />contract amount of $98,861.96 and adjust the contingency from a rate of $10,000 to a 20% <br />contingency in the amount of $19,772.39 for a total annual amount of $118,634.35 (the <br />contingency amount for the period January though June 2016 will be prorated between the two <br />rates (January to April, $3,333.33 and May to June, $4,628.73) to provide pressure washing <br />services for the areas where events are held and to add more pressure washing coverage in the <br />Civic Center area. <br />25E -1 <br />
