Proposed New Miscellaneous Fees FY 2016-2017 <br /> <br />PLANNING AND BUILDING AGENCY <br />1.Zoning Interpretation Letter <br />Existing Fee: None <br />Proposed Fee: $475.56 <br />The Zoning Interpretation Letter is a document developers can request that addresses any <br /> fee covers only the costs associated with producing and <br />providing the letter i.e. staff time spent writing, reviewing, formatting, mailing, and filing. The <br />projected annual revenues are $11,889 based on 25 requests. <br />2.Zoning Ordinance Amendment (ZOA) fee <br />Existing Fee: None <br />Proposed Fee: $5,558.61 <br />The ZOA fee covers the staff time and resources to process the ZOA application that amends Chapter <br />41 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code requested by developers and members of the development <br />community. Staff time includes analyzing code changes, drafting amendments, reaching out to the <br />community, preparing staff reports, and presenting to the Planning Commission and the City Council. <br />The projected annual revenues are $22,234.44. <br />3.Proactive Rental Enforcement Program (PREP) Recording Service Fee for Lien <br />Existing Fee: None <br />Proposed Fee: $57.00 per recording <br />This fee allows for the City to record a lien against the real property of any rental housing owner who <br />fails to pay any rental housing property fees, re-inspection fees and related penalties or interest <br />owed to the City. The fee covers the staff time spent writing, reviewing, formatting, mailing, and filing <br />the Recording Service Fee. a new program and the fee is <br />required to be implemented per SAMC 8-1981 (b). Revenue is generated when liens are paid and <br />released. Projected annual revenues are $1,850 based on 50 liened and released properties. <br />4.PREP Rental Housing Annual Inspection Fee <br />Existing Fee: None <br />Proposed Fee: $23 per unit <br />This fee is to cover the inspection and administrative costs for monitoring the PREP program as <br />referenced in SAMC 8-1967. <br />5.PREP Re-inspection Fee <br />Existing Fee: None <br />Proposed Fee: $15 per unit <br />This fee is to cover the re-inspection and administrative costs for monitoring the PREP program. <br /> <br /> <br />77 <br /> <br />
