ENTERPRISE FUNDS <br />WATER ENTERPRISE - PWAPROGRAM <br />Water Quality & Measurement06017644 <br />Statement of Purpose <br />Provide a safe and reliable water supply, accurate measurement of water meters in the water distribution system, protection of <br />the water and sewer infrastructure, and water use efficiency and education programs. <br />The water quality monitoring program includes achieving 100% compliance with the regulations and monitoring schedules established <br />by the California Department of Public Health, ensuring a safe and reliable water supply. Customers are notified annually of the various <br />elements found in their drinking water. The metering program includes the selection, installation, testing, and maintenance of all water <br />meters. The underground service alert aspect of the program provides location of the infrastructure within 48 hours of notification by <br />the customer. The education program is provided through a contractual program for students in the city's public and private school <br />systems. The program's target goal is to reach a minimum of 11,000 students annually. The water use efficiency program includes <br />residential, commercial, and industrial water audits in response to customer inquiries.
