EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 6103 <br />ROH — 11/06/14 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014-06 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2014-14 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />2372 NORTH RIVERSIDE DRIVE, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2014-15 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE KEY CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On November 6, 2014, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2014-14) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2014-15) of the E.C. Rogers House, located at 2372 <br />North Riverside Drive, Santa Ana. <br />B. The E.C. Rogers House has distinctive architectural features of a textbook <br />example of the Tudor Revival style with its extravagant chimney, half- <br />timbered gable ends, and Gothic -influenced entry. The house also <br />contributes to the historic character of the Floral Park neighborhood <br />through its age, style, scale, and historic association with an important <br />member of the local building industry. <br />C. This home qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties and is eligible for categorization as Key for its association with <br />prolific builder Emmit C. Rogers and because it is "a good example of <br />period architecture." <br />D. Character -defining features of the E.C. Rogers House that should be <br />preserved include, but may not be limited to, Tudor Revival style, and was <br />built in 1933 by prolific builder, Emmit C. Rogers. Character defining <br />features height and massing, materials and finishes (stucco, wood, brick); <br />roof configuration and treatment; design and composition; chimney; entry; <br />doors and windows; and architectural detailing (such as half-timbering). <br />The legal owner of the subject property is Ronald Lee Scott. <br />Resolution No. 2014-06 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
