EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 6103 <br />ROH — 11/06/14 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014-16 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2014-08 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />501 WEST 19TH STREET, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2014-08 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE KEY CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS,- <br />Section <br />OLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On November 20, 2014, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2014-08) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2014-08) of the Lacy -Murray House, located at 501 <br />West 19th Street, Santa Ana. <br />B. The Lacy -Murray House has distinctive architectural features of the <br />Mission/Spanish Revival style, and was built in 1923 for Laura Lacy - <br />Murray. Mrs. Lacy -Murray was born on April 17, 1877, and was niece to <br />Theo Lacy, the second and fourth Sheriff of Orange County. Laura <br />married James Murray, a policeman for the City of Santa Ana. <br />C. This home qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties and is eligible for categorization as Key for its "good example of <br />period architecture." <br />D. Character -defining features of the Lacy -Murray House that should be <br />preserved include, but may not be limited to, exterior materials including <br />stucco, stucco texture, and clay roof tiles capping the parapet, original <br />windows and original front entry door, side entry gate, massing, and <br />articulation. <br />E. The legal owner of the subject property is Janet Tidgewell on behalf of the <br />Tidgewell Family Trust. <br />F. The legal description for the subject property is attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A and incorporated by this reference as though fully set forth herein. <br />Resolution No. 2014-16 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
