Site License Agreement for Taxi Services at the <br />Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center <br />August 2, 2016 <br />Page 2 <br />The proposal received from California Yellow Cab Company is responsive to the RFP <br />requirements. In addition, California Yellow Cab is second largest taxicab provider in the county, <br />serving as contractor for the cities of Brea, Cypress, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Laguna Hills, <br />Laguna Woods, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, and Villa Park, and also holding <br />franchise agreements with City of Anaheim and John Wayne Airport. California Yellow Cab also <br />provides a customer - friendly process for requesting cab services via telephone or via a <br />smartphone application. <br />Staff is recommending that California Yellow Cab be awarded the site license agreement for taxi <br />services at the SARTC. The proposal submitted by this firm is consistent and reasonable. The <br />agreement term will begin on August 3, 2016, and terminate on August 2, 2017, and includes <br />options for three one -year renewals. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #3 - Economic Development, <br />Objective #1 (implement a comprehensive Economic Development strategy to ensure that Santa <br />Ana is a City with a vibrant business climate that is accessible, user - friendly and welcoming to all <br />residents and visitors), Strategy C (promote and market Santa Ana specific strengths in the <br />regional economy, including location, size of workforce, proximity to airport/trains, and availability <br />of industrial /commercial opportunities such as 55- freeway corridor, South Main corridor, South <br />Bristol Street, Harbor Blvd, Downtown, and Streetcar Corridor), <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Lease income in the amount of $6,000 annually will be received into the SARTC Concession -Taxi <br />Stand Revenue Account (No. 06717002 - 53815) in FY 2016 -17 to be expended $5,500 in FY <br />2016 -17 and $500 in FY 2017 -18.
