Partnerships and Collaborations <br />LAAs are community connectors. Ninety-two percent maintain at least one collaboration or partnership <br />with public or community agencies such as a school district, Parks & Recreation Department, Social <br />Services, Economic Development, or a Chamber of Commerce, and 76 percent have three or more <br />ongoing collaborations. <br />Sixty percent (or higher) of LAAs partnered with these six types of non -arts organizations: <br />• Chambers of Commerce <br />• Libraries <br />• Local arts agencies in other cities/states <br />• Convention and Tourism Bureaus <br />• Colleges/universities/higher education <br />• Schools <br />Because partnership and collaboration can mean different things to different people, we asked <br />respondents to be specific about the actual work involved between the organizations. We offered five <br />categories of partnership and collaboration, ranging from informal conversations to actively planning and <br />funding programs together to the arts being fully integrated into the non -arts organizations work. <br />15 <br />AMERICANS FOR THE ARTS <br />
