REVIEW AND ADOPT THE ARTS AND CULTURE MASTER PLAN <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 5, 4A) - Community Development Agency <br />The following spoke on the matter: <br />• Ryan Smolar, participated in development of the Master Plan, support efforts <br />and commends staff for taking initiative. <br />• Victor Payan, actively participated in the development of the Plan; noted that <br />City has opportunity to create jobs and generate new revenue in addition to <br />partnerships with various art groups. <br />• Sandra Pocha Pena, member of the Arts and Culture Commission; thanked <br />the City Council for funding Plan; it has been a year in planning; look forward <br />to implementation. <br />• Madeleine Spencer, representative of Santa Ana Business Council, <br />highlighted importance of art in our community; supports Plan. <br />• Robyn MacNair, Visual Arts Director for Santa Ana Unified School District, <br />commented on nexus between City and school district efforts. <br />• Sara Guerrero, parent volunteer at Santa Ana Unified School District and <br />theater teacher; thanked the City Council, resident and teacher in Santa Ana; <br />noted importance of Art Making <br />Councilmember Amezcua, supports arts and the Plan as proposed. <br />Councilmember Benavides, commented on various expressions of art <br />throughout the community; youth involvement important; <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 15 AUGUST 16, 2016 <br />1 0A -15 <br />
