Appendix <br />ATTACHMENT 1 <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS <br />FOR <br />LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE (DISTRICT A) <br />RFP NO.: 16-063 <br />Description of Work <br />ROUTINE MAINTENANCE <br />Each morning at the start of the workday the Contractor's Supervisor or their designated <br />representative shall inspect each site and respond immediately to any malfunctions, vandalism, <br />hazardous conditions or otherwise abnormal conditions that are inconsistent with the quality <br />standards specified herein or threaten people and/or property by reporting the condition <br />immediately to the Director's Representative. Failure to inspect each site daily before 9:00am <br />will result in a $300 penalty per site. <br />Routine maintenance shall include but not be limited to the following services performed at the <br />Work Sites and per the City of Santa Ana Park Services Standards. <br />1.0 Turf Care <br />The Civic Center area turf is considered to be all "Priority" turf and therefore the contractor <br />should follow the specifications for "Priority" turf below. The Contractor shall maintain mowers <br />that provide a smooth, even cut without ridges or depressions and without tearing of the leaf <br />blades. Mowing shall be performed at the speed the mowers manufacturer specifies to maximize <br />quality of cut. Mowing shall be performed with straight and flowing patterns approved by the <br />Director's Representative. All visible turf clippings shall be removed from the site the same day <br />turf care occurs pursuant to SAMC Chapter 16. Furthermore, the Contractor shall prevent turf <br />clippings from leaving the site into streets or any other adjacent properties. From time to time the <br />Director's Representative will direct the Contractor to change mowing patterns to minimize <br />rutting and compaction. <br />1.1 Priority Turf Mowing- All "priority" turf shall be mowed once a week all year. The <br />Contractor shall mow the priority turf areas at 1/2". In order to achieve a quality cut at <br />this height and not leave clippings the Contractor will perform a first cut using a rotary <br />mower with clipping catching capability followed by using a Kubota L5060 tractor <br />equipped with turf type tires and tractor powered Trimax ProCutS3-237 91" rotary <br />mower, an approved fairway or greens mower for medium size areas and a walk behind <br />Jacobsen Eclipse2 reel mower for small areas. (see Attachment 7).
