REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />OCTOBER 4, 2016 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENTS FOR SALES AND USE TAX & <br />UTILITY USERS' TAX COMPLIANCE, <br />AUDITING AND CONSULTING SERVICES <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 4,2A) <br />1 <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />_--:• ID, <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 15' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />1) Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with <br />MuniServices, LLC for Sales and Use Tax Revenue Auditing services for an initial one - <br />year term beginning January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017, for an amount not to <br />exceed $10,000, plus 15% of recovered revenues over the life of the initial agreement with <br />a provision for one six -month extension exercisable by the City Manager and the City <br />Attorney, in an amount not to exceed 15% of recovered revenues subject to non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and the City Attorney. <br />2) Adopt a Resolution authorizing the release of information to MuniServices from the State <br />Board of Equalization in connection with the auditing of Sales and Use Tax making certain <br />determinations relating thereto and authorizing certain actions in connection therewith. <br />3) Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with <br />MuniServices, LLC for Utility Users' Tax and Mobil Telephony Services Auditing services <br />for an initial two -year term beginning January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2018, for an <br />amount not to exceed 0.6% of the total UUT taxes received for the most recent fiscal year <br />by the City or a minimum fee of $15,000 over the life of the initial agreement with a <br />provision for one one -year extension exercisable by the City Manager and the City <br />Attorney, subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City Manager and the City <br />Attorney. <br />4) Adopt a Resolution authorizing the release of information to MuniServices from the State <br />Board of Equalization in connection with the auditing of Utility Users' Tax and Mobil <br />Telephony Services making certain determinations relating thereto and authorizing certain <br />actions in connection therewith. <br />55B -1 <br />
