CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />DECEMBER 6, 2016 <br />TITLE: <br />RESOLUTION — FY 2017/18 GRANT <br />APPLICATIONS MEASURE M2 <br />COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPORTATION <br />FUNDING PROGRAM <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1G) <br />CITY MANAC <br />WK+7�i ti ►' R �I �3iC�7►1 <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 18' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2na Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />5hr 10 tam , :� <br />Adopt a resolution authorizing the City of Santa Ana to submit applications for funding <br />consideration under the Measure M2 Comprehensive Transportation Funding Program. <br />Direct staff to amend the Seven -Year Capital Improvement Program to incorporate the <br />Comprehensive Transportation Funding Program projects. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) issued a call for projects under the <br />Measure M2 Comprehensive Transportation Funding Program (CTFP) for FY 2017/18. Funding <br />in the amount of $32 million will be awarded on a countywide competitive basis for two programs: <br />(a) Regional Capacity and (b) Traffic Signal Synchronization. Adoption of the recommended <br />resolution and amending the Seven -Year Capital Improvement Program is a qualifying <br />requirement to submit the grant applications. <br />The City will be submitting five applications totaling $14,771,625 in grant fund requests. Existing <br />and future local funding sources will be used to provide the required matching funds for the <br />recommended projects.
