RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -XXX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER <br />8, 2016. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. Pursuant to the Charter of the City of Santa Ana, a general municipal <br />election was held in the City of Santa Ana on November 8, 2016, to fill the <br />office of Mayor and offices of members of the City Council nominated from <br />Wards 1, 3 and 5 of the City, and to consider a ballot measure amending <br />the City Charter. <br />B. The results of the said election, including the whole number of votes cast <br />in the City, the names of the persons voted for, for what office each <br />person was voted for, and the number of votes given in the City to each <br />person, are set forth in that certain document attached hereto as Exhibit A <br />and incorporated herein by this reference as though fully set forth. <br />C. That, based upon said results, Miguel A. Pulido is declared elected to the <br />office of Mayor of the City of Santa Ana to a two year term. <br />D. That, based upon said results, the following persons are declared elected <br />to the following respective offices, each to a four year term: <br />1. Vicente Sarmiento, member of the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana from Ward 1. <br />2. Jose Solorio, member of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />from Ward 3. <br />3. Juan Villegas, member of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />from Ward 5. <br />E. That based upon said results, the following ballot measures shall become <br />effective after acceptance and filing by the Secretary of State: <br />1.
